Man Breaks Into Elmira Business

ELMIRA (WENY)--- An Elmira man is behind bars this morning for allegedly breaking into a local business to steal from the soda and gumball machine.
According to the Elmira Police Department, Adam Burnside, 35, broke into United Dividers at Stephens Place just before 5 Sunday morning.
Officers set up a perimeter around the building and they found Burnside hiding behind a pillar. Police say he broke into the soda and gumball machines and he stole from a number of desks.
He allegedly unlocked a door on the side of the building. He's now charged with third degree burglary and he's behind bars this morning.
