Attempted Express Mart Robbery

ELMIRA (WENY)--- A man suspected of trying to rob an Express Mart is in police custody.

Police say, 33-year-old James Batrowny of Elmira is in police custody for attempting to rob the store at 300 Maple Avenue just after three this morning.

The suspect fled the scene but was caught by police a short time later. Police tell us nothing was taken from the store.

The investigation continues.
