Elmira (WENY) - Protesters took to church street in front of the Elmira city police department today, calling for action from investigators to help find a missing woman. They say Telisha Cardwell,20, has been missing since November 6th, and last seen near the intersection of Hudson and Harmon Street in Elmira. She was wearing black sneakers, jeans, a white jacket. Her mother says Elmira police are not doing enough and she says her daughter wouldn't just walk away like this. Telisha's mother Robin Caldwell says she will continue to protest until something is done to find Telisha.
“It has been nine days and they are still doing nothing. They are not asking questions, there is nothing they are doing to even follow up on this, and it took for me to come down here, and I will do this everyday,” says Robin.
WENY TV spoke to Elmira Police by phone tonight. They say they are investigating, and are working with New York City Police on the case.
