Fire Destroys Millerton Home

MILLERTON -- [WENY] A family living in Millerton for nearly their whole life, loses everything within just moments-- the cause of the fire still unknown.
"They're really good people, they'd do anything they can do to help you but now they're in need and their young boys don't have anything to go to school with and they have nothing left," said Leslie Camp, the fiance of Don Seeley Senior's oldest son who no longer lived at the house.
Five fire departments from both tiers responded to the fire; but there's almost nothing left.
The remote area made fighting this fire extra hard.
Firefighters poured 15 to 20 thousand gallons of water on the house and fire companies using a portable pond to try and get water on the house faster.
Part of the reason it's a total loss is here are no fire hydrants near the house.
Tankers filled up at a nearby creek.
Don Seely Senior, Judy Lee and their children Shawn and Richard lived there for most of their lives as a family.
They preferred not to talk on camera during this hard time.
"They moved here when they were younger and then they had their boys, so this has been their long time home forever," said Leslie Camp.
For those who want to help the family out with donations, contact the Towanda Red Cross at 570-265-1845 and ask for Carmen Flynn.
