Fixing Dennison Park Fountain

Corning (WENY) - A piece of history is back at Corning's Denison Park. City and neighborhood leaders unveiled the restored Gregory fountain this morning. It was a gift from Corning Tile founder, Morris Gregory, exactly 100 years ago. orning Museum of Glass employees re-created some of the original terra-cotta pieces. Local construction companies donated concrete and labor. The renovation project started in 2007. Tom Giambrone the Project's Manager says,“There is a sense of satisfaction, completing anything of this magnitude, the team effort is beyond words, everybody put forth and nobody lagged behind.”
The project is a collaboration of the City, the Parks Foundation, and the Southside Neighborhood Association. There are more restoration projects in the works.
