Historic Tax Credit For Select Homes
Historic Tax Credits could help homeowners.
ELMIRA N.Y--(WENY-TV)--Wednesday night a seminar will be held on the use of Historic Homeowner Tax Credits at the Chemung Valley Museum in Elmira. The event runs from 5:30-7 in the evening.
The Historic Homes tax credit allows for tax relief on repairs such as roofs, and boilers, as well as rehab and restoration work on porches, walls, and windows.
To qualify the applicant among other things must live in the home, have the home registered as historic, and be a New York State tax payer. Home projects must cost at least five thousand dollars and consist of five percent exterior work. The project must also get approval from the SHPO.
All questions can be answered at the seminar Wednesday.
