The board voted to appoint Hillary Austin as the Interim Deputy Superintendent to temporarily fill the role Joe Hochreiter is leaving behind. Right now, there’s no deputy superintendent for the district

Elmira (WENY) - The board voted to appoint Hillary Austin as the Interim Deputy Superintendent to temporarily fill the role Joe Hochreiter is leaving behind. Right now, there's no deputy superintendent for the district. That person would have acted as Superintendent when Hochreiter leaves his job in Elmira in June. Baord President Sara Lattin says because of that vacancy, Austin had to be appointed. Hochreiter is technically still the superintendent for the district.
      “We need to make sure the district can keep moving forward and in order to do that we have to have that support in place with this position. Hilary is familiar and can hit the ground running and keep this moving forward,” says Lattin.
      Hochreiter's term in Elmira officially ends June 31st.
