Holiday Fire Safety Tips

TWIN TIERS (WENY) -- Another reminder during the holidays to look out for holiday fires.
Be careful when heating your home and cooking for the family. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are the second and third leading days for cooking fires. They happen most of the time when the food is left unattended.
Local fire departments are warning families of all the fire hazards once again. Make sure the tree is watered and at least three feet away from a heat source. That means fireplaces radiators candles and heat vents. Don't let the tree block a doorway or exit. Make sure the carbon monoxide and smoke alarms are working properly
