I Ski NY Bus Could Bring New Visitors

March 10, 2014

ALBANY, NY (WENY) -- Governor Cuomo was enjoying the last bit of winter, a weekend getaway from the Capitol for this years Adirondack Winter Challenge in Lake Placid. The event is meant to highlight winter tourism in Upstate New York.
It drew over 400 state and local elected officials. Even the Governor got in on the fun, snowmobiling down the trails.
He was able to take a little break from riding the trails to mention the launch of a new tourism program. 'I Ski NY' Bus is a new bus line to 13 upstate ski mountains. The bus  goes from New York City and Toronto to any of the 13 resorts.
Two slopes in Cortland County will have drop-off points: Greek Peak Mountain Resort and Labrador Mountain. Currently only two mountains in the state have bus services from NYC.
Cuomo hopes the 'I SKI NY' Bus will give an added boost to New Yorks' winter tourism.
     Services start next season.
