Ithaca Ice Wars

ITHACA (WENY) -- The icy weather out there this weekend might have kept a lot of you indoors. But in Ithaca artists turned that ice into art.
The snowy weekend made the perfect backdrop to Ithaca's Ice Wars Ice carving Competition. Twelve acclaimed ice carvers took over the commons carving up some incredible works of ice art.
Check these out! The detail on these ice sculptures is crazy! It started Friday night with the first qualifying competition, artists had to create a work of art in just 20 minutes.
The ice fest continued into Saturday where carvers had to carve and deliver their ice creation in just three hours.
For those of you who couldn't carve works of art out of ice, you could just wear your wintery gear around the commons or hang out in the lounge made out of what else, but ice.
