      TOWANDA, PA (WENY) -- A long time Bradford County judge will step down from the bench early next year.
     Judge Jeffrey Smith announced he'll resign on February 7th, to spend more time with his wife and family. Judge Smith has served as Commonwealth Court judge in Bradford County since 1983. He hopes to continue serving on an as-needed part time basis.
     Judge Maureen Beirne will take over as the county's President Judge.
