Twin Tiers (WENY) - WENY TV's own Political analysis and Elmira College political science professor Dr. Jim Twombly is now a published author, and his new book about the American Presidency could help people understand the highest office in the land. The textbook "The Progression of the American Presidency: Individuals, Empire, and Change" is geared towards college juniors, but Twombly says it's more readable than a college text, making it easy for anyone interested in the politics of the presidency. The book looks at office's constitutional roots and how it's changed over the years by the individuals who occupy it. Twombly has met two presidents and has spent more than 25 years teaching students about the office.
     “Even the average voter who wants to get ready for 2016, and there will be a free for all in both party’s this book will give them the background they would need to understand the process a little more,” says Twombly.
     If you buy one of the copies available in the Elmira college bookstore, it most likely will be signed by the author himself.
