Newfield Man Sentenced in Extortion
(WENY)--- The Newfield man accused of trying to extort $250 thousand dollars from Paula Deen has been sentenced. Thomas Paculis, 62, was sentenced to two years in federal prison, Monday.
He was also ordered to serve one year of supervised release. As we reported, the Tompkins County man plead guilty in federal court back in July after he threatened to publicly reveal damaging information about the celebrity food star. Prosecutors dropped one of two charges in exchange for the plea.
The incident happened in the middle of Deen's scandal, regarding her past use of the N-Word.
