Matt Miller Remembrance Ride

ELMIRA - [WENY]     On Thursday night, over a hundred bicyclists came out to Eldridge Park in Elmira to not only remember Matt, but to raise awareness.
43 year old Matt Miller died on April 25th after being hit by a car while riding his bicycle on Hendy Creek Road in Southport on April 24th. Miller left behind a wife, and a 7 year old son, Holden.
New York State Senator Tom O'Mara recently reviewed new proposed legislation that would add increased education about the pedestrians and bicycle aspect on a drivers test.
After a moment of silence for Matt, riders left Eldridge Park on the 6 mile trek through Elmira, all in the hopes that drivers will be reminded to be aware of those who share the road.

Plans for another awareness ride are currently underway, which will be held next May.
