More Police at Hathorn Court

ELMIRA, NY (WENY) -- Residents at Elmira's Hathorn Court will see beefed up security in 2013.
Elmira city council will vote Monday to approve a one year agreement to increase police presence at the apartment complex. Hathorn Court's management company, All County Management, will pay the city $136,000 for the extra protection.
Mayor Sue Skidmore welcomes more cops to a neighborhood that's seen more than it share of crime.
"For those engaged in illegal activities in Hathorn, take note. You are not the quality of life we want or expect in Elmira. We are there, we mean business and you are not welcome," Skidmore said.
"The goal is to clean it up over there; Hathorn is a nice facility, there are a lot of great people who live in that facility, but there are also undesireables, and our goal is to get that out of there," said Elmira Police Chief Mike Robertson.
This isn't the first time an apartment complex has sought help from the city for increased protection. Last year, Hertiage Park's owner paid $140,000 for more police.
