     NEWARK VALLEY, NY (WENY) -- Police in Tioga County, New York arrested six people in a meth lab bust in Newark Valley.
       Police executed search warrant at the home of 23-year-old Scott Cole and 29-year-old Jamie Swackhammer on Shirley Road, and found an active meth lab. Investigators recovered liquid methamphetamine, processed meth, hypodermic needles, as well as meth-making materials and a shotgun.
       Four other people, 31 year old Bryan Burkard of Berkshire, 48 year old Theresa Cochran, 23 year old Kara Smithgall, and 28 year old Melanie Short were also arrested at the home. All six people are charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, and are now in the Tioga County jail without bail. More charges are pending.
