NY Group Urges Funding for Bike Paths

January 16, 2014

ALBANY, N.Y. (WENY) -- A group of local governments and non-profit organizations are banding together to fight for more money from the state for pedestrian and bike infrastructure.
The group called New Yorkers for Active Transportation is urging Governor Andrew Cuomo to allocate $20 million dollars in the state budget for projects across New York.
They want Cuomo to dedicate funding for trails, walkways and bridges citing the economic and health benefits that better walking and biking trails can have on a community's quality of life.
