A Pennsylvania health company says it's going to study possible health impacts of natural gas drilling on the Marcellus shale.

     Geisinger Health System was awarded one-million-dollars by the Degenstein Foundation to help underwrite what it called a "large-scale, scientifically rigorous assessment" of the issue. The study will look at health histories of patients who live near wells and other facilities producing natural gas from the Marcellus shale formation. Officials said they expect other funders to come forward.
