Parole Denied for Demetrius Moore
ELMIRA (WENY) -- Demetrius Moore, the man convicted for killing a woman in the late 80s, had his parole request denied last weekThe Elmira native was one of two men convicted in the 1988 murder of 74-year-old Rose Swartwood of Elmira.
The panel noted the seriousness of the crime, Moore's lengthy criminal record prior to the murder. Panel members did say his disciplinary record appears to be clean since the last time he was in front of them two years ago.
Moore, who is serving a 25-year-to-life sentence, will be eligible for parole consideration again in 2016.
