PSP Investigate New Year's Holiday Crashes
HARRISBURG, PA (WENY) -- It was a busy New Year's for Pennsylvania State Police.
Troopers investigated more than 800 crashes during the holiday driving period, from December 31st through January 2nd. Of those crashes, 146 people were injured and one person was killed. Thirty-six of the wrecks were alcohol-related. Troopers arrested 220 people for driving under the influence, and issued more than 3,000 speeding tickets.
The crash numbers only include incidents investigated by state police, and do not include those involving local law enforcement agencies.
