Rouille Takes Plea Deal
ELMIRA, NY (WENY) -- The Elmira man who led police on a week-long manhunt in the Southern Tier took a plea deal in Chemung County court today.
Robert Rouille pleaded guilty to charges of first degree attempted robbery, and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Rouille was charged in connection to an incident at an apartment in Southport back in August. Two days later, he launched a manhunt after he ran from police following a traffic stop in Corning. He was found nearly two weeks later, after authorities tracked him down at a trailer park in Broome County.
Rouille will spend eight years in prison for the Chemung County charges. He still faces separate charges in Steuben County, where he remains jailed.
