Elmira (WENY) - Elmira School board members also talked about how the district plans to fill the soon-to-be vacant Superintendent position. GST BOCES Superintendent Dr. Horst Graefe laid out the options other districts have used and time line for board members.Graefe says there are four phases over a 5 to 6 month period and cost up to $20,000. The four phases are District Assessment, Recruitment, Evaluation and Selection. The board could choose to use GST Boces, an independent consultant or the board could conduct the process themselves. Board President Sara Lattin says it was good to have the process laid out.
      “For us a big part of this is the time line and the superintendent was able to say to us this is how long a search like this will take and break it down for us, each part of the process,” says Lattin.
     The board needs to decide which method they will use to find the next superintendent, and that is expected to be decided soon.
