Seneca LPG Storage Protest

READING, N.Y. - [WENY]      Hundreds of anti LPG storage protesters gathered at a Crestwood Gas Compression site on Monday afternoon.
The protesters voiced their demands to both Crestwood, and elected officials that all additional storage expansion on Seneca lake needs to stop.
Opponents of LPG gas storage say that expansion projects would harm the environment, the tourism industry in the area, and it could lead to a major accidents.
Protesters also came out in opposition of the start of construction for a natural gas expansion project.
Crestwood released a statement, saying that the natural gas expansion project on Route 14 in Reading has not started yet. A copy of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission implantation plan from Crestwood is available below.
Organizers of the anti LPG rally asked protesters to keep participating in non violent, peaceful event, including acts of civil disobedience, until additional expansion projects are halted.
