Meth Lab Accomplice Sentenced
ROCHESTER, NY (WENY) -- The third man involved in one of the largest meth busts in New York state history was sentenced to federal prison today.
Thirty-nine yearold Shawn Rickard of Elmira will spend 97 months in federal prison, followed by five years supervised release. Rickard was convicted in federal court of conspiracy to manufacture 500 grams or more of meth, and possession of firearms.
Prosecutors say Rickard, along with John Barton and Chad Speicher, conspired to make meth in Schuyler County between 2009 and May 2011. Investigators uncovered a massive working meth lab at Barton's home, along with meth-making ingredients, marijuana, multiple guns, and cash.
Barton and Speicher will be sentenced later this month on similar charges.
