Ithaca (WENY) - It's primary day,. Polls opened at noon, and democratic congressional candidate Nate Shinagawa was first in line in Ithaca. The congressional hopeful is facing Melissa Dobson, and Leslie Danks-Burke for the chance to face republican incumbent Tom Reed in November. Shinagawa has been campaigning for more than three months. He wants to grow small businesses to create jobs.
“Really people like our message. We're talking about getting this government to focus on building up and empowering the working middle class in this country, that’s what this campaign is about people really like that message and I think we will win because of it.”
