Push to Rename Post Office for Fallen Soldier
WASHINGTON, DC (WENY) -- A push is in Washington to name a Schuyler County Post Office in honor of a fallen Army soldier.
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Congressman Tom Reed introced legislation to rename the Post Office in Tyrone as the "specialist Christopher Scott Post Office Building."
Scott graduated from the Dundee Central School District in 2009 and joined the Army. He was killed in September 2011 while on his first tour of duty if Afghanistan.
He died just weeks before he was scheduled to come back to the Southern Tier and get married.
