Suspect In Big Flats Bank Robbery On The Loose
BIG FLATS---(WENY) Officers are on the lookout tonight for a man who held up the Elmira Savings Bank in Big Flats around 1:45 Wednesday afternoon.
No one was injured during what is being called a strong-arm robbery, but the suspect is still on the loose.
We talked to Chemung County Sheriff Christopher Moss, who offers this description of who to look out for. He said earlier, "We're Looking for a white male, olive complexion..got a black skull cap, green coat with a tan collar. Obviously we're working with the state police, Horseheads police, Elmira Police Department. No vehicle description at this point."
The man is said to be around 40-years-old. There's no word on how much, if any, the suspect got away with and police say no weapon was used.
This is the latest in a string of robberies to hit the area. There's no word yet on whether or not they're connected.
A bystander did report seeing somebody fitting the description of the suspect.
