Arrests in Connection to Teenís Death
CAMPBELL (WENY)--- Investigators say the Painted Post teenager who was killed on I-86 started his night at an underage-drinking party. Now, a teenager and 34-year-old mother are charged in connection to William Warrick's death.
William Warrick, 16, was walking on I-86 in the town of Campbell back on October 20th and hit by a tractor trailer. Investigators say Warrick was at a Painted Post party with about 30 students from Corning East and Corning West High School.
According to police, there was under-age drinking and marijuana. Police say the teenager charged, hosted the party at her house while her mom was at work. The only adult a the party was Kelly Campbell. She was there with her teenage daughter.
Police say the 34-year-old mother provided alcohol to some of the children. Campbell was arrested and charged with unlawful dealing with a child and endangering the welfare of a child. According to police Warrick was intoxicated when he left the party.
He was killed by a tractor-trailer about a half-mile west of Exit 42. The driver was wasn't issued a ticket or charged.
