ITHACA, NY (WENY)---The Tompkins County legislature is one step closer to establishing new voting districts.

The legislature will hold a public hearing on the new election districts on Tuesday, August 21st at the Tompkins County Courthouse on North Tioga Street. The hearing begins at 5:30.

If the plan is approved, the number of country districts will be reduced to 14 from 15.
