Twin Tiers (WENY) - The sequester has a lot of people talking including WENY tv's own political analyst Dr. Jim Twombly. When it comes to fixing the issue public opinion polls suggest that the American public wants a mix of spending cuts and increases in revenue. Jim says that the cuts could force companies to furlough Air traffic controllers and TSA workers which could translate to longer lines at the airport. He says the real problem is going to be the long term impact on the economy.
      “Immediately it's not going to be all that terrible this is something that is going to roll out over time. We're not going to see 2 percent cut from the budget Monday morning and suddenly there is going to be mass layoffs. Some of the things that have been talked about is furloughing employees specifically in the defense industry,” says Twombly.
     Jim says the earliest something could be done to undo the automatic cuts is mid- to late next week.
