ALFRED---(WENY) A Wellsville man is charged in an Alfred bank robbery that led police on a high speed chase on and around Alfred State University. Police say 51-year-old Scott Wade of Wellsville robbed the Community Bank on North Main street in the village of Alfred.

      It happened Friday around 1:00 in the afternoon. Wade was taken into custody just an hour later. After leaving the bank with over $12,000.00, Wade allegedly crossed the street to the Alfred University campus where he parked his car.

     After a high speed chase, he was taken into custody and he's now charged with robbery and grand larceny, both in the third degree. He's in jail on $100,000.00 bail. The same bank was robbed on January 4th. No suspect arrested in that robbery.
