ITHACA (WENY) -- Tompkins County Legislator Nate Shinagawa is the unofficial winner of the Democratic Primary for New York's 23rd Congressional District.

Shinagawa defeated Ithaca-rival Leslie Danks-Burke and Owego lawyer Melissa Dobson.

Here are the results:

589 of 596 precincts - 99 percent reporting.

Nate Shinagawa 5,683 - 55 percent

Leslie Burke 3,833 - 37 percent

Melissa Dobson 724 - 7 percent
