Blood Supplies Reach Critical Level

BIG FLATS (WENY) -- Local leaders say blood supply levels are critically low and the Red Cross is asking the community for help.

The Red Cross is hosting a blood drive sponsored by Realty USA in Elmira.

The blood drive is dedicated to Debbie Haskell Johnson. Debbie was a Real Estate Agent at Realty USA and she passed away unexpectedly on Sunday.

Debbie's co-workers say she worked hard in service to her community and thought that having the blood drive in her honor would be a fitting tribute.

The blood drive will be held at the Big Flats American Legion on 46 Olcott Road from Noon till 6:00pm.

All blood types are needed during the shortage.
