Shot Officer Being Sent Home

ITHACA (WENY) -- The Ithaca Police Officer shot while chasing a suspect last week will be sent home Thursday.
According to the Ithaca Police department, Officer Anthony Augustine will be released sometime Thursday from Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. He will not be speaking to the media.
Augustine was in intensive care after suffering a minor stroke and a collapsed lung.
22 year-old Jamel Booker of Ithaca allegedly shot officer Augustine after a low speed chase last week.
Booker is now in jail. He faces charges of aggravated assault on a police officer and criminal possession of a weapon.
