Ithaca Airport Could Lose Traffic Control Tower

ITHACA, NY (WENY) -- Two Southern Tier airports could lose their air traffic control tower, due to the federal sequester that could take effect March 1st.
The Federal Aviation Administration has listed the Ithaca-Tompkins Regional Airport and Binghamton Airport among 200 airports that could lost control towers, due to sequestration.
If Congress misses the March 1st deadline, the FAA faces $600 dollars in funding cuts. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood has warned of massive flight delays nationwide, due to the cuts and furloughs in the FAA and TSA.
The Elmira-Corning Regional Airport is not on the list.
