Reward Offered in Credit Union Armed Robbery

ELMIRA, NY (WENY) -- Several credit unions are joining together to offer a cash reward as the investigation continues into an armed robbery at a credit union branch in Elmira earlier this month.
A reward of up to $5,000 is now being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for the armed robbery on December 4th at the Finger Lakes Health Care Federal Credit Union on Hart Street. That's when two men wearing masks walked into the credit union and demanded money before making off with the cash. One of the suspects showed a handgun and threatened credit union employees. The two men ran off and may have gotten away in a light colored four door sedan.
It's the second time the credit union was robbed in as many months - an armed suspect stole money back in November. No arrests have been made.
Anyone with information is asked to call Elmira Police at 737-5626 or the anonymous tip line at 607-271-HALT.
