Woman Charged in Death of Baby Girl

We’re starting to learn information tonight about a terrible story in the Northern Tier. Pennsylvania state police say a 5-month old baby girl in dead, the victim of involuntary manslaughter.

SAYRE (WENY) - Pennsylvania State Police have charged a Bradford County woman in the death of a five month-old baby girl.

According to a press release, 31 year-old Janae Jennings of Higgins Avenue in Sayre is charged with involuntary manslaughter, endangering the welfare of a child, and recklessly endangering another, in the death of the infant girl on May 2, 2011.

Jennings was arraigned in district court and released on non-monetary bail. Police are not saying whether Jennings is the mother of the girl.

Police are not releasing any more information at this time.
