Big Flats Community Days Festival
Big Flats (WENY) -- On a beautiful evening in the Twin Tiers, more than a hundred neighbors gathered for cotton candy, funnel cakes and the rides at the Big Flats Community Days festival.
The annual event kicked off tonight at the town's community park and features a combination of more than 20 food stands, games and amusement rides.
Admission and entertainment are free and rides cost a few bucks. Money raised goes back to the community, but the biggest winners are the kids.
"My other daughter is singing here at 7 p.m. with Horseheads Middle School," said Joe Valicenti. "It's a nice night so we decided to get some dinner."
"I really liked the games," said 10-year-old Dominic Cantando. "The games are so much fun."
"My favorite part is like the rides, games and the food -- just everything," added Victoria, Dominic's older sister.
The festival is open through Saturday night, and there will be a fireworks show tomorrow night at 9:30.
