Church Reopens After Tragedy

COUDERSPORT---(WENY) A church in coudersport is healing after a tragic turn of events last month. 53 year-old Darlene Sitler was brutally gunned down by her ex-husband while playing the organ during a Sunday morning church service.

The First United Presbyterian Church in Coudersport closed following the December 2nd shooting. Over the weekend, a candlelight prayer vigil and short ceremony marked the re-opening of the church.

Darlene worked as an elementary school music teacher at the Northern Potter Children's school. Her ex-husband, Greg Eldred has been charged with criminal homicide.
