Corning City Schools on Market
CORNING -- [WENY] Corning-Painted Post schools are trying to raise some money by selling five school buildings which will be empty when the high schools and middle schools merge. The board signed a contract with Pyramid Brokerage Company today, to market Northside Blodgett, the Administration Building, Lindley-Presho, Frank Pierce Early Childhood Center and Corning Free Academy.
The new Middle and High Schools will be open in the fall.
Northside Blogett and Corning Free Academy will be vacant right away, so the district administration will be moving to CFA unless a developer makes a sudden offer.
"Developers are already looking at some of the properties to turn them into apartment complexes," said Superintendent Mike Ginalski.
Ginalski says he expects offers to come in very quickly for Lindley-Presho and Frank Pierce.
