Coring-Painted Post (WENY) - Corning-Painted Post School District leaders previewed their 2013 -2014 budget tonight. With another major deficit to overcome. The initial projections took into account different factors, including keeping the budget the same, having a 2% tax increase, with minimal state aid. There is also a possibility that state aid could drop because funds need to be directed to clean up efforts of Superstorm Sandy. With all the increases C-PP is facing a $9.5 million deficit in their 2013 -2014 budget. Increases are driving up the budget. Health and dental coverage will go up 12%, Employment retirement costs will increase 13.5% and the biggest jump is teacher retirement costs, those will go up 42%.
