David Perry Sentenced to Prison
BINGHAMTON, NY (WENY) -- The main suspect in a missing person case will spend at least four years in prison for insurance fraud and grand larceny.
David Perry of Elmira was sentenced this morning in Broome County court to four to 12 years in state prison. A jury convicted Perry back in October of defrauding the state of more than $100,000, after filing a false injury claim while he worked as a corrections officer at the Elmira Correctional Facility.
Perry is also the main suspect in the disappearance of his girlfriend, Florida Police Cadet, Kelly Rothwell. Rothwell disappeared on March 2011, the night she told friends she was going to break up with Perry. Rothwell hasn't been found, and no arrests have been made in that case.
