Elmira Heights (WENY) - Teachers, Parents and students at Elmira Heights High School are reaching out to other area school districts to join forces to draw the attention of lawmakers in Albany. Students and administrators from up to 20 different schools from around New York will rally for education tomorrow. Districts is advocating for more equitable aid distribution from the state and full restoration of the GAP elimination Adjustment.

“Most schools in our region have less state aid then we did in 2008 which is obviously problematic,” says Elmira Heights Superintendent Mary Beth Fiore. “So I think this is an opportunity a multi-community effort for people to come together and shed some light on this problem that we're all facing.”

The Elmira Heights School district is facing a nearly million dollar budget gap. The rally starts at 1 o'clock tomorrow at the Elmira Heights high school football field.
