      ELMIRA (WENY) -- The Chemung County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect in an attempted robbery at an Elmira convenience store earlier this week.
     Deputies were called to the Kwik Fill Gas Station on Lake Road in Elmira Wednesday night around 9PM. The clerk told them a white male came in and demanded cash from the register.
     The suspect didn't show or mention a weapon during the attempted robbery. He's described as having a slim build, approximately 5-feet 8-inches tall, with thin facial hair. He was last seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, with blue jeans and a baseball cap.
      The suspect left the scene in a gray, two-door car with damage to the rear passenger side fender, and headed west on McCanns Boulevard.
