Suspect Arrested In Elmira Murder
ELMIRA, NY (WENY) -- Police make an arrest in a murder in Elmira, just hours after a body was found in a vehicle on the westside.
Police charged 21 year old Justin Jones of Elmira with second degree murder. Jones was arraigned in Elmira City Court this morning, and is now in the Chemung County jail without bail. He's scheduled to be back in court next week.
As we reported yesterday, Elmira police were called to the 300 block of Alexander place just before noon, and found a body found in an SUV. Police still haven't released the identity of the victim, or how he died.
The neighborhood was blocked off for several hours, while heavily armed cops surrounded a home, and collected evidence. Police were back in the area today, but wouldn't tell us what they were looking for. Police also aren't saying who owns the SUV the victims body was found in.
