Deadline for First Arena Repairs

ELMIRA, NY (WENY) -- Both sides in the ongoing First Arena saga were back in bankruptcy court today for a progress report on repairs to the arena.
Today is the deadline for The former managers of the arena, Elmira Downtown Arena, or EDA to make critical repairs to a broken compressor, malfunctioning fire system, and other issues. Local businessman Tom Freeman, the future owner of the Arena, tells WENY TV News at today's hearing in Rochester, EDA told the judge the repairs were made, but provided no proof.
The judge overseeing the bankruptcy case now says EDA needs to create a plan to emerge from bankruptcy. EDA is currently paying $18,000 dollars a month in rent through the Jackals hockey season.
