N. Tier to Get Housing Grant to Fight Shortage

HARRISBURG (WENY) -- Pennsylvania's Housing Finance Agency has approved money to fight the housing shortage in the Northern Tier.
State Representative Matt Baker says the money will come out of the state's Marcellus Shale impact fee. Bradford and Tioga Counties will each get $275,000.
The money will go to rehab at least 14 rental properties in each county, helping landlords make repairs and energy and safety upgrades. Baker says the drilling industry has brought an influx of people into the area, but a lack of housing options.
