Jewish Food Fest: April 6, 2014
ELMIRA (WENY) -- Members of Elmira's Jewish community are getting ready for one of their biggest food festivals of the year.
The Jewish Food Fest is this Sunday, April 6 from 11 AM to 3 PM at 1008 West Water Street at Congregation Kol Ami.
Visitors will be able to try a variety of Jewish prepared foods like kosher hot dogs, chicken soup with matza balls and potato knishes which is a potato filled pastry. Organizers hope the sixth annual event will be a big success.
"Everyone brings their family recipes so ever recipe is the old recipe that comes from someone's family in the Jewish community," says volunteer, Lisa Goldburg. "It's a good time for everyone to come out and try some new food, enjoy themselves and have fun."
Tickets cost $12 dollars at the door, $10 dollars if you buy them before Sunday. Children 13 and under are free with an adult.
You can purchase tickets at Congregation Kol Ami, the Jewish Center and Federation, Cappy's in Elmira and the Glass Menagerie in Corning. Call (607) 734-8122 for more information.
