Lions Club Donations
CORNING---(WENY) The Corning Lions Club had its annual auction to benefit the Salvation Army earlier tonight at the Corning Raddison.
Lions Club Members brought white elephant gifts to be auctioned off, with all the proceeds going to the Salvation Army. The Corning Lions Club handed the Salvation Army a check for $7,000.
Major Larry Wittenberg of the Salvation Army says, "They have a great fun time doing it, and all day they rang bells before they came in here, this is something that is very important to the lions club of corning, to raise money for the salvation army."
Thursday's grand total is not yet final. They expect more donations from other Corning Lions Club members over the next few days.
