ELMIRA, NY (WENY) One of Elmira's own is one step closer to the 2012 USA Olympics Finals for track and field.

Molly Huddle, 27,  finished second in her 5,000-meter heat Monday night. Huddle's time was the seventh-fastest among the 16 qualifiers. And Thursday's 5,000 final will determine the top three runners who will represent the United States at the Olympic games in London starting on July 27th.

The 2002 graduate of Elmira Notre Dame High School is the American record-holder in the 5,000. The women's Olympic 5,000 final is Aug. 10.
